Mayor Roberts has been privileged to serve the citizens of Pinson while working with many people who have come together to make Pinson a great place to live. Robbie believes in the power of teamwork and believes that none of the accomplishments listed below would have been possible without the hard work of the city staff, the city council, the past mayors, fire chiefs, board members and other citizens that he has had the opportunity to work with.

As Mayor of Pinson
Pinson has already seen progress under the leadership of Mayor Roberts even though he has only been mayor since October of 2024, Some of the improvements include:
- The opening of the new ALDI grocery store.
- Rezoning of a large track of land that will bring over 500 new homes to the community.
- Pushed for a major increase in funding for local fire districts—raising their annual allocations to $125K each.
- The launching of a new city website at pinsonal.gov.
- Repairs and renovations to the Palmerdale Homestead Community Center and drainage improvements needed to prevent flooding at Palmerdale Fire Station #1.
- Made needed changes to allow the city's new financial software to be compliant and replaced previous software that did not function as needed. Outsourced the city's payroll services to allow for more efficiency and accountability.
- The opening of the new Domino's Pizza.
- Charted a new direction for our Park and Recreation Department with the hiring of a new director who will retain our previous youth sports while adding new opportunities for children and senior adults.
- Industrial development through private/public partnership within the local industrial park.
- Starting of the construction of a senior housing complex that will allow adults 62 and older to live in moden affordable housing units.
- The launching of free high speed internet in public spaces in Pinson.
- Created an online web portal for city facilities rentals.

As a City Council Member
While serving as a member of the City Council Pinson saw many improvements:
- Robbie earned both the Basic (2015) and Advanced (2018) Certified Municipal Official training awards through the Alabama League of Municipalities.
- The opening of Bicentennial Park with a splash pad, amphitheater, event room, disc golf, playground and walking trail.
- The purchase and renovations of the Rock School Complex including the relocation of the Pinson Public Library.
- The opening of several new business including: Rain Drop Car Wash, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, Burger King, Huddle House, along with new facilities for Jack's, Taco Bell, and Hometown Bank.
- The start of the Northern Interstate beltline in Palmerdale.
- The creation of a Park and Recreations Department and the updating of youth sports facilities.
- The creation of a city building inspections department.
- Improved environmental awareness through the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve and curbside home recycling.
- Becoming a member of the Jefferson County Greenways Commision as the first and only member from the Pinson area.
- Fostering a positive relationship and dialog with the Jefferson County Board of Education.
- Promoting public safety through our local fire districts and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Before Election to City Office
Before being elected to the Pinson City Council for three terms, Robbie was involved in local issues as an appointed member of city and county boards as well as a concerned private citizen.
- Served as a member and president of the Palmerdale Fire District Board for 17 years. During his time on the board the district saw many advancements including the transition from being primarily a volunteer department to a paid department. The addition of in-house patient transport services. Saw an improvement in ISO rating while improving the district's overall financial position through close management and improved dues collections.
- Served as a member of the Pinson Planning and Zoning Board while also earning Certified Zoning Official certification through the University of North Alabama. Worked with the Birmingham Regional Planning Commission and fellow Pinson Planning Commision members to develop the original City of Pinson Planning and Zoning ordinance as well as the city's subdivision regulations after having experienced first hand the failures of living under the Jefferson County subdivision rules.
- Served as an original member and chairman of the Pinson Public Library Board. It was during this time that the Library hired its first director, developed its initial collection of books, DVDs, and audiobooks, and opened its first location in the city hall building.
